Mental Status Examination is the part of clinical assessment that describes the sum total of the examiner’s observation and impressions of a psychiatric patient at the time of the interview. It gives a brief idea about the quantum and quality of patient’s illness and helps the practitioner to design an effective treatment plan and thereafter access the effectiveness of the treatment.
